Abstract
A simple model is proposed for the diffusion-controlled release of rad ioactive nuclei implanted into a metal. Experiments using a tungsten t arget bombarded by 25 keV Xe-135,137-141(1+) ions have been conducted in order to make a comparison with this model. Experimental results ag ree with the expected behaviour and the Arrhenius relation is obeyed o ver the temperature range with an activation energy E(A) = 110 kJ/mole and a pre-exponential factor D-0 = 1.4 x 10(-11) cm(2)/s,
