Abstract
The utilization of a quantitative method of forecasting, coupled with an existing patient classification system (the Army's Workload Managem ent System for Nursing), provides a creative costing tool for managing nursing resources at military medical facilities. Although the nursin g management options discussed in this article are focused on a downsi zing situation at an Army Community Hospital, they are applicable thro ughout military medical facilities.
