Abstract
The anterior interhemispheric approach for aneurysms of the anterior c ommunicating artery was studied in ten cadavers. This approach present s several advantages over the pterional approach widely used in neuros urgery. It allows direct access to the region of the anterior communic ating artery complex with minimal retraction of the brain and preserva tioin of the olfactory tract and the gyrus rectus.
