Abstract
A novel optical phase-locked loop (PLL), which utilizes four wave mixi ng in a fiber as a phase detector, is proposed to track a data rate cl ock in an optically time-division-multiplexed (TDM) data stream, and t o generate a prescaled electric clock directly. An optical TDM 20 Gb/s -105 km transmission experiment has been successfully performed with t he optical PLL.
