Abstract
Social engineering, occupying powers and evictions: the case of Lhasa. Tibet describes the forced evictions undertaken by the Chinese author ities in Lhasa, and the broader government housing and planning proces s of which they are part. It also considers their impact on the reside nts and on the urban form of Lhasa, the Tibetan capital.
