The synthesis of individual Ni-, Mn-, and Na-containing cage-like orga
nometallosiloxanes has been performed. A possible mechanism of the for
mation of stable metallosiloxane frameworks via a transition complex a
nd coordinately bound ion pairs has been proposed. Both monometallic a
nd bimetallic organometallosiloxanes containing only atoms of a transi
tion metal or two different (transition and non-transition) metals, re
spectively, have been prepared.
