Four-membered heterocycles have been prepared by the reaction of (meth
yldichlorosilyl)- and (dimethylchlorosilyl)methyldichlorophosphines wi
th primary aliphatic amines: 1,2lambda3,4-azaphosphasiletidines and ac
yclic (methylaminosilyl)methyldiamidophosphonites. The latter eliminat
e primary amines on heating in vacuo to give 1,2lambda3,4-azaphosphasi
letidines. The structures of the compounds thus obtained have been stu
died by P-31, Si-29, H-1, and C-13 NMR.
