Abstract
For suitability to carry out a comparative study of discrete linear ba sis transforms, a parametric class of these transforms is considered. It is shown that under certain conditions on the parameters, every mem ber of this class is superior to the Walsh-Hadamard transform for firs t-order stationary Markov process. For high correlation of this proces s, the class is proved to be inferior to the slant transform. A lower bound of the performance of this class is also found.
