Abstract
The presence of stephanocysts in sterile mycelia of Crepidotus applana tus is reported. These stephanocysts are illustrated with line drawing s and SEM pictures. Their formation in culture is dependent on the nit rogen concentration in the medium. The stephanocysts of C. applanatus are compared with the only hitherto known stephanocysts from Hyphoderm a spp.
