A study of fungi associate with the seeds of clusterbean (Cyamopsis te
tragonoloba L., Taub.) cv. Pusa Naubahar, has been made by agar plate
and blotter methods. In all 25 species have been encountered. Aspergil
lus flavus, A. niger, A. fumigatus, Trichoderma viride and Aspergillus
terreus were dominant in all the three seasons namely, winter, summer
and rainy seasons. Besides, Aspergillus parasiticus, Cladosporium cla
dospoirioides, Curvularia lunata, Fusarium equiseti, Macrophomina phas
eolina, Penicillium citrinum, Rhizopus nigricans and white sterile myc
elia were also prevalent. As to the relative percentage of different f
ungal groups, moniliales of Deuteromycotina were the highest in all th
e seasons followed by Zygomycotina and Ascomycotina.
