AN AB-INITIO STUDY OF HELIUM AND NEON MONOIONIC POSITIVE TRIMERS

The dimeric and trimeric positive monoions of helium and neon are stud ied with ab initio quantum mechanical methods. It is found that while the dimers are strongly bound, the trimers exhibit very small binding energies.
