D. Hlavata et Z. Horak, WAXS AND SAXS INVESTIGATION OF POLYPROPYLENE CRYSTALLINE PHASE IN BLENDS WITH HIGH-IMPACT POLYSTYRENE AND COMPATIBILIZERS, European Polymer Journal, 30(5), 1994, pp. 597-600
On the basis of combination of wide-angle and small-angle X-ray scatte
ring, the character of the polypropylene crystalline phase and its con
tent were studied in polypropylene-high impact polystyrene blends, com
patibilized by styrene-butadiene block copolymers. Addition of a copol
ymer slightly reduces the crystallinity of polypropylene. In the absen
ce of the compatibilizer no miscibility of the components was observed
. In all samples polypropylene maintains its alpha-crystalline phase.
