P. Kalenda, APPARENT ACTIVATION-ENERGIES FOR CURING REACTIONS IN UNSATURATED POLYESTERS IN THE PRESENCE OF FERROCENE OR FERROCENE DERIVATIVES, European Polymer Journal, 30(5), 1994, pp. 605-608
This paper presents the results obtained on measuring the apparent act
ivation energies of hardening reactions in unsaturated polyesters runn
ing on using various monosubstituted and 1,1'-disubstituted ferrocene
derivatives as accelerators. It has been found that the apparent activ
ation energies of these reactions can be correlated with the literatur
e values of quarter-wave potentials E1/4 for individual ferrocene deri
vatives. On the contrary the activation energies have not been found i
n any relation to the relative molecular masses of the accelerators co
ncerned.
