Test results of a liquid krypton/argon electromagnetic calorimeter wit
h accordion type electrode structure are presented. The test was carri
ed out at the Brookhaven AGS in a negative beam with good electron ide
ntification at momenta 5, 10, 15, and 20 GeV/c. Results on energy reso
lution, linearity, pointing resolution, and muon response are presente
d. The results are in good agreement with Monte Carlo calculations. Th
e energy resolution of 6.7%/square-root E was achieved using liquid kr
ypton and 7.7%/square-root E with liquid argon, with a negligible cons
tant term.
