Abstract
An improved microwave-sideband CO2 laser spectrometer with resolution of 2 x 10(-4) cm-1 is described. For a series of vibration-rotation li nes of NH3 in nu2 and nu2 = 2a <-- nu2 = 1s bands, frequencies, streng ths, widths and shifts are derived by measuring the absorption line pr ofiles at different pressures. The experimental results are analysed a nd compared with previous theoretical calculations and measurements.
