FT-IR and FT-Raman studies of C-13- and S-34-labeled bis(ethylanedithi
o)tetrathiafulvalene (BEDT-TTF or ET) electron-donor molecules were ma
de, and the results are presented. Assignments for fundamental vibrati
ons in ET were verified. Spectral data suggest that ET has no center o
f symmetry (confirming X-ray data) and that the data can be reconciled
by a D-type point group with only slight interactions occurring betwe
en the four molecules per unit cell.
