ANALYSIS OF THE SCATTERING OF ACOUSTIC-WAVES IN THE PRESENCE OF INTENSE NOISE

A technique for either measuring or estimating the level of scattered acoustic signals in the background of strongly exceeding multiplicativ e noise is suggested. This technique was tested in a full-scale experi ment. Currently, there is interest in this technique because of the ne ed to acoustically monitor certain media to confirm the belief that ob served parameter variations of acoustic signals are caused by the medi um rather than by other possible factors.
