Abstract
The application of the GPS-X computer simulation of sewage works to a 55 Ml/d dry weather flow (dwf) nitrifying activated sludge plant (ASP) is described. The role of simulation and the features of a simulation package as required by the end usa am outlined. The plant processes, operation, performance and the instrumentation are described. The on- line measurements are collected and displayed by the GFX monitoring sy stem which acts as input/output stage for GPS-X. The simulation packag e uses the IAWPRC model with modifications based on Dold (1990). The f eatures of the model, its calibration and successful verification are described.
