The ferroelectric-to-paraelectric phase transition at 186.5-degrees-C,
in LiNH4SO4 and its ammonium rich phase is studied through isothermal
DSC experiment. Instead of a usual kinetic peak, we have observed ran
dom, rapid fluctuations in power output in the vicinity of the phase t
ransition, 181-204-degrees-C. These results, which are reproducible on
several samples and several times, are compared with those on the 438
-degrees-C phase transition in LiKSO4 (where the effect is absent), an
