Experimental results are presented showing the possibility of construc
ting semiconductor injection InAsSb/InAsSbP lasers tunable in the spec
tral range 3.2 - 3.4 mum. Lasers of this type were used in the tempera
ture interval 77 - 160 K for high precision analysis of molecular spec
tra. The obtained absorption spectra of methane and ethylene molecules
enabled us to determine the most important spectroscopic properties o
f these lasers, such as the range of continuous frequency tuning, rate
of tuning, spectral resolution, and signal to noise ratio.
