R. Dorner et al., ELECTRON-ELECTRON INTERACTION IN PROJECTILE IONIZATION INVESTIGATED BY HIGH-RESOLUTION RECOIL ION MOMENTUM SPECTROSCOPY, Physical review letters, 72(20), 1994, pp. 3166-3169
Contributions of the electron-electron and the nuclear-electron intera
ctions to projectile electron loss in He+ on helium collisions have be
en clearly separated kinematically for the first time by measuring the
longitudinal and transverse momenta of the recoiling target ion with
precision of better than +/-0.15 a.u. The longitudinal and transverse
momentum distributions are in general agreement with two-center n-body
classical trajectory Monte Carlo calculations.
