Abstract
Acute renal failure occurring in a 24-year-old primigravida with eclam psia and HELLP (hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes, low platelets) synd rome is described. She also had transient disseminated intravascular c oagulation. Hemodialysis, fresh blood transfusions, and antihypertensi ve therapy were administered, and resulted in complete recovery. Kidne y biopsy revealed acute tubular necrosis.
