Jp. Gandhi et al., CHARACTERIZATION OF EXTRACELLULAR THERMOSTABLE XYLANASE FROM CHAETOMIUM-GLOBOSUM, Journal of chemical technology and biotechnology, 60(1), 1994, pp. 55-60
This paper deals with the characterization of extracellular thermostab
le xylanase produced by Chaetomium globosum, an ascomycete fungus. The
crude extracellular enzyme was found to have temperature and pH optim
a of 60-degrees-C and 5.0 respectively. The enzyme hydrolyses xylan to
a mixture of xylo-oligomers. Xylobiose and xylose are the major break
down products.
