Abstract
The results being presented in this paper are those obtained during 19 96 on a drilling automation project at Stobie mine. This project has s uccessfully demonstrated that the remote operation oi multiple drills (by a single driller) from surface using Tamrock Data Solo 1000 Sixty drillrigs is technically feasible and can potentially bring significan t rewards in terms of productivity and work environment improvements a s well as labour and maintenance savings.
