Abstract
Amorphous Cu-W alloys have been prepared by the magnetron sputtering t echnique. Detailed studies of the crystallization behaviour of Cu50W50 and Cu66W34 have been performed by in situ X-ray diffraction measurem ents from room temperature to 1273 K. It was found that crystallizatio n occurs at approximately 420 K in both samples. The first crystalline phase that appeared was pure Cu. At approximately 670 K, a bcc W(Cu) solid solution formed, while at approximately 1150 K it started to dec ompose and pure W appeared.
