N. Motoyama et al., EFFECT OF CA SUBSTITUTION AND PRESSURE ON THE TRANSPORT AND MAGNETIC-PROPERTIES OF SR14CU24O41 WITH DOPED 2-LEG CU-O LADDERS, Physical review. B, Condensed matter, 55(6), 1997, pp. 3386-3389
Anisotropic electrical resistivity and magnetic susceptibility are mea
sured on single crystals of Sr(14-x)A(x)Cu(24)O(41) (A = Ca, Y). This
material contains two-leg antiferromagnetic spin ladders that are prog
ressively doped with hole carriers upon Ca substitution and thus deter
mine the charge-transport properties. Application of hydrostatic press
ure to this system has an effect similar to Ca substitution, increasin
g the hole density in the ladders. The resistivity shows remarkable an
isotropy, indicative of a one-dimensional electronic state.
