J. Seeff et al., A CASE-REPORT OF INTRACORTICAL HEMANGIOMA - A FORGOTTEN INTRACORTICALLESION, Clinical orthopaedics and related research, (302), 1994, pp. 235-238
The differential diagnosis for lytic intracortical lesions consists pr
imarily of osteoid osteoma and Brodie's abscess. A third, less-well-kn
own lesion is the intracortical hemangioma. It has an identical appear
ance to the two aforementioned lesions on bone scan and radiographs. T
his case report will describe the magnetic resonance imaging appearanc
e of intracortical hemangioma and how it might be differentiated from
osteoid osteoma and Brodie's abscess.
