COLONIC COMPLICATION OF ACUTE LYMPHOBLASTIC-LEUKEMIA

We present four unusual colonic complications of acute lymphoblastic l eukaemia which occurred during the early induction period of chemother apy. These included a transverse colitis, a haemorrhagic proctitis, a caeco-colic intussusception and an ileo-colic intussusception complica ting typhlitis. Although complications are rare, they should be consid ered in the differential diagnosis of abdominal pain in children under going chemotherapy.
