A new method is developed for reconstructing a low-pass version of the
cross-spectral density function of a planar, secondary, statistically
stationary source of any state of coherence. The reconstruction is pe
rformed from the knowledge of the cross-spectral density function of t
he field generated by the source in any plane parallel to the source p
lane and located in the half-space into which the source radiates. Som
e computer simulations illustrating the method are also presented.
