Abstract
Techniques have been developed to permit the response of the controls for dc transmission systems to adapt to large system changes. A gain s cheduling approach tunes the control as an on-line function of the eff ective short-circuit ratio and contingency indicators. The method has been tested by digital simulation, based on EMTP, of a back-to-back dc system. It has been found to be robust and control performance has be en enhanced.
