Abstract
In terms of the stochastic facet model of the sea surface, a technique is developed for calculating the average energy and polarization char acteristics of directed plane-polarized radiation reflected by the sea , using a bistatic probe system. The main purpose of the technique is to determine the mean radiance and vibration azimuth of the reflected radiation. Examples are given of calculations of the indicated quantit ies. The results can be useful in hydrophysical studies.
