Abstract
Melt crystallization processes are in use as suspension or as solid la yer processes. The purification efficiency of such melt crystallizatio n processes can be improved by further purification steps such as swea ting and washing. Here a mathematical description of experimental resu lts which come from a solid layer type of crystallization process is c onsidered. The experimental results of the purification efficiencies o f each step are described by dimensionless numbers result from a dimen sion analysis of the influencing parameters.
