Abstract
A new diterpenequinone, which possesses a hitherto unknown cycloheptan enaphthoquinone skeleton, together with the known compound ferruginol, was isolated from the roots of Salvia tiliaefolia. The structure of t he new diterpene was established from its spectral data and by exhaust ive 1D and 2D NMR experiments.
