A simple method is presented to introduce the temperature as a paramet
er in a hysteresis model for soft ferrites which are used in power con
version. The complete model requires only a few parameters as input. I
t computes hysteresis losses and the characteristics B(H), phi(t) and
d phi/dt. The computed results are compared with measured data for fou
r MnZn soft ferrites used in power electronics, and a good agreement i
s found for arbitrary excitation wave forms (symmetrical and asymmetri
cal wave forms) for temperatures ranging from 40 degrees C to 140 degr
ees C and for different values of the flux density [50 mT, 400 mT].
