Abstract
Marine, Holocene clays in the Tokyo Bay area were leached by fresh wat er since the Mid-Holocene sea level drop. This caused destabilization in the sediment texture resulting in a high sensitivity for sliding an d mass movements. This paper describes the soil mechanical characteris tics of a slope failure.
