Kinetic energy distributions of secondary ions emitted from Cs+-bombar
ded oxygen annealed and argon annealed YBa2Cu3O7-delta (YBCO) samples
and Ar+-bombarded Y2O3 have been measured. Surface binding energy of y
ttrium (Y) and copper in the YBCO sample is found to be influenced by
the structural changes and they are compared with that of Y in Y2O3. D
ifference in the secondary ion emission from the two types of YBCO sam
ples are explained in the light of their known structures.
