Rb. Reisch, TRAUMATIC PLASTIC BOWING DEFORMITY OF THE RADIUS AND ULNA IN A SKELETALLY MATURE ADULT, Journal of orthopaedic trauma, 8(3), 1994, pp. 258-262
An 18 1/2 year old skeletally mature male sustained a plastic bowing d
eformity of the radius and ulna due to entrapment of the forearm aroun
d a large, rapidly rotating cylinder. The deformity was corrected by c
losed reduction under general anesthesia and a good functional result
was achieved. This injury, which can occur in young adults as well as
children, must receive adequate reduction, either open or closed, in o
rder to restore normal range of motion.
