Abstract
It has been one hundred years since the appearance of the first clinic al paper on infection involving anaerobic bacteria, an article that al so detailed recovery of and description of the organisms responsible f or the infection. We pay tribute to the author of that landmark paper, Andre Veillon, in celebration of the centennial of this important occ asion.
