Abstract
Basophil leucocytes are a significant component of the infiltrating ce lls in a variety of tissue reactions in guinea pigs. However, little i s known about the participation of basophils in similar reactions in m ost other animal species. The circulating blood, skin and small intest inal mucosa of sheep were examined after they had received stimuli kno wn to elicit basophil-rich responses in guinea pigs but relatively few basophils were found.
