Abstract
Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy has been used to study sulfur dioxide dimer isolated in nitrogen matrices. The results for various i sotopic species of SO2 are presented and discussed. Both number of abs orptions observed in the spectra and their splittings after the isotop ic substitution confirm that sulfur dioxide dimer with two non-equival ent subunits is present in solid nitrogen.
