Experimental conditions were established for the determination of fruc
tose in the presence of glucose by a colorimetric method, using either
sulphuric or hydrochloric acid as a reagent. The procedure was much m
ore rapid than the standard polarimetric method, and thus considered t
o be more suited to application in industrial process control. The res
ults were similar to those obtained through replication using the pola
rimetric method.
