Abstract
PEG tubes are used for decompression of the stomach or enteral feeding and are secured with bumpers. These bumpers may migrate. A patient wi th a stenotic ileostomy stoma is presented in whom migration of a PEG tube bumper resulted in an intermittent small bowel obstruction. Revis ion of the ileostomy stoma with removal of the bumper resolved the pro blem. Bumper migration should be considered a possible etiology for bo wel obstruction in patients with PEG tubes especially if they have a s tenotic stoma. (C) 1994 Academic Press, Inc
