Abstract
The Thin Layer Activation (TLA) technique is a nuclear method especial ly used for different types of wear (or corrosion) investigations. Exp erimental results for selection criteria of nuclear reactions for vari ous tribological studies, using the IPNE U-120 classical variable ener gy Cyclotron are presented. Measuring methods for the main types of we ar phenomena and home made instrumentations dedicated for TLA industri al applications are also reported. Some typical TLA tribological appli cations, a nuclear scanning method to obtain wear profile of piston-ri ngs are presented as well.
