Cyclic voltammetric, differential pulse voltammetric and spectroelectr
ochemical methods have been used to study the newly synthesized metal-
free 2,9,16,23-tetraferrocenylphthalocyanine in dichloroethane. Two re
versible reduction peaks are obtained, corresponding to electrode reac
tions of the phthalocyanine ring. The multiple ferrocenyl redox center
s are oxidized at one potential. The electronic spectra are reported f
or this species in different oxidation states.
