Ra. Carrigan et al., EXTRACTION FROM TEV-RANGE ACCELERATORS USING BENT CRYSTAL CHANNELING, Nuclear instruments & methods in physics research. Section B, Beam interactions with materials and atoms, 90(1-4), 1994, pp. 128-132
Plans and first results from Fermilab Experiment 853 are presented. E8
53 is an experiment to test the feasibility and efficiency of extracti
ng a low-intensity beam from the halo of the Tevatron using channeling
in a bent silicon crystal. The motivation of the experiment is to app
ly crystal extraction to trans-TeV accelerators like the LHC. Channeli
ng developments related to crystal extraction and some early results f
rom accelerator studies at the Tevatron are presented.
