A. Moschel et Kd. Usadel, INFLUENCE OF THE DIPOLE INTERACTION ON THE DIRECTION OF THE MAGNETIZATION IN THIN FERROMAGNETIC-FILMS, Physical review. B, Condensed matter, 49(18), 1994, pp. 12868-12871
In this paper we investigate the influence of a surface anisotropy and
the dipole interaction on the magnetization of thin films. The surfac
e anisotropy favors a perpendicular orientation while the dipole inter
action favors an in-plane magnetization. It is shown that these compet
ing interactions for certain values of the parameters may result in a
temperature-driven switching transition from an out-of-plane to an in-
plane ordered state.
