R. Liberman et al., MARGINAL SEAL OF COMPOSITE INLAYS USING DIFFERENT POLYMERIZATION TECHNIQUES, Journal of oral rehabilitation, 24(1), 1997, pp. 26-29
The effect of indirect and semi-direct curing. systems of Cl II compos
ite inlays on microleakage was investigated in vitro and compared to c
onventional direct posterior composite restorations. Nearly identical
Cl II cavities were restored with the same composite resin using diffe
rent polymerization systems. Microleakage assessment was carried out a
fter cyclic loading and thermal stressing by assessing the dye penetra
tion. The data showed that ail inlay techniques resulted in improved m
arginal sealing compared with conventional restorations. However, the
indirect procedure resulted in significantly reduced microleakage comp
ared to the semi-direct inlay techniques.
