Abstract
Tharyx retierei, a new species of bipalpate Cirratulidae (Polychaeta), has been collected from subtidal depths south of Safi, off the Atlant ic coast of Morocco. The species differs from all other known bipalpat e cirratulids in possessing aristate and pseudocompound neurosetae in posterior segments. The species is described and figured and its affin ities are briefly discussed.
