Abstract
Electromagnetic waves of medium power (P=110 W) in the submillimeter r ange (f=354 GHz) are generated in long pulses (tau = 0.6 s) by a submi llimeter wave gyrotron. The fluctuation levels of output power are sup pressed within 8% by optimizing the operating parameters. This output has been applied to plasma scattering measurements. Preliminary result s of low-frequency density fluctuations in Compact Helical System plas ma are presented.
