Abstract
Interaction of SiC with HfB2 is studied in a wide temperature range. A ccording to the data of x-ray phase analysis, metallographic analysis. and determination of T(m) a phase diagram of the SiC-HfB2 system was plotted, said system being eutectic under 2800-degrees-C with T(eut) 2 360+/-40-degrees-C and eutectic composition of 74-75 mole % HfB2.
